Why rubber tracks beat steel tracks for residential work

Took me a few torn-up lawns and angry customers to learn this lesson. If you do residential work, rubber tracks are almost always the better call:

✔ Don’t tear up lawns (grass bounces back in days vs weeks)

✔ Don’t crack driveways, sidewalks, or pavers

✔ Way quieter — neighbors don’t complain

✔ Less vibration through the machine (your back will thank you)

✔ Don’t track mud and debris onto finished surfaces

Steel still wins for demolition, rocky terrain, frozen ground, and harsh sites. But for residential landscaping, gardens, orchards, and any project where someone walks the ground after you leave — rubber every time.

Cost a bit more upfront. Pay for themselves in saved customer relationships and faster cleanup.
