Maintaining Gravel Roads — Best Practices for Longevity

I’m responsible for maintaining about 15 miles of rural gravel roads and struggling with washboarding and potholes that seem to come back fast. What’s your grading routine to make gravel last longer? How often should I blade, and at what depth? Also curious about water management — crowning and drainage seem critical. Do you add any binding materials like calcium chloride? I want to reduce rework and keep residents happy. Any proven strategies from long-time road maintainers would be gold!
