How to Reduce Cycle Times on a Residential Excavation Job

I feel like I’m spending too much time moving dirt back and forth on residential excavation jobs. What’s your approach to minimizing cycle times? Do you stage materials differently or use specific equipment combinations? I’m running a mini excavator and a small dump truck. Would a larger excavator or a different bucket size make a difference? Also, how do you plan your dig sequence to avoid backtracking? I want to bid more competitively but need to get faster first. Thanks for any productivity hacks!
